How to Make Links Clickable in Canva - Hyperlink Your Documents
Did you know that you can make a clickable PDF straight in Canva?
That's right! Embed a link directly into your documents using this Canva trick. This works amazing for template delivery and digital downloads. Adding links to your PDF documents has never been easier. Let me show you how to create and add links to your graphics or documents in Canva!
As an example, I will be using my Let's Go: How to Use Your New Logo guide, which you can find in my digital e-shop. In this guide, you’ll see that I have clickable links in the document and I will teach you step-by-step how to add those links on Canva.
In my guide, I have a section that explains how you can add your logo to your email signature and I want to add a clickable link to my email signature Canva template.
Add Text
Let’s start off by adding the text and creating a button from it! You can press the T key and you’ll instantly get a text box that pops up to type in your text or you can manually add it on Canva by adding a heading, subheading, or little body of text. The text is going to be a call to action and will be written as “Click for Template”. You want to make sure the text is aligned with the text on the rest of the page.
Create the Button
Now that there is text, let’s can create the pill shape button behind the text. Canva makes it so incredibly easy! You’re going to select the text you’re working on and go to the top toolbar to Effects > Background. Here you can change the roundness, spread, transparency, and color to create the button. Now we have text that looks like a button!
Adding the Link
Time to link it! In another browser tab, I’m going to go to my email signature Canva template and click on the Share button in the upper right-hand corner. Then, you would click on the Template link and copy the link. Go back to the guide and select the text! Then, go to the toolbar, click the Link symbol, and then paste the link. Once the text is underlined, then that is how you know adding the link worked. Congrats! You now have a clickable link in your document!
You can test it out by downloading your document as a standard PDF and clicking on the links to see if they work. It’s truly that simple! Go ahead and try it out for yourself.
