Below I’ve answered many of the common questions I get about my design process, pricing, and more. What are your exact rates & fees for your design projects, websites, and brands?
We believe in 100% transparency regarding our project fees, pricing, timeline, and scope. To keep us 100% transparent, the pricing is always current and up-to-date on our services page, so that’s the sourth of truth for all pricing.
Do you offer payment plans for your design packags?
Yes, we absolutely offer payment plans! In fact, our full brand & website design process defaults to a four part payment plan. We are flexible with payment plans for design projects and want to make sure we come up with a cadence that works for you.
I can’t invest right now, but I want to work with you.
If you can’t invest, start small with your design project with a consultation! Meet with me and I can help you with strategy, making edits to your site, and providing professional advice. We also offer payment plans up to 6 months.

Branding + Logos
Do you design “just a logo”?
We do not currently provide logo-only support. We believe in building full, robust brand suites that encompass a logo, but also a strong color palette, font suite, graphics to support your business, and the strategy behind all of it! To learn more about branding, click to view our brand-only page.
Can I get a brand with you without doing a website?
Yes, we love doing brand-only projects! We love our brand design work and it’s essential to our very core as a design studio. A lot of our clients need websites outside of Squarespace (our core platform) like Shopify or Wordpress, so you can still get the Bold August vibrant branding a la carte. You can view brand services here.
What logo files do you provide? Do you provide font files?
We believe that once we design, we give you everything. You will own your source files as well as PNGs, SVGs, and PDFs of your brand files. We cannot give font files unless unless we exclusively purchase a license, but sometimes we source them through Adobe or Canva.

Squarespace Website Design
Do you only design websites in Squarespace?
Yes, we are a Squarespace-only studio! We excel in creating flexible, easy-to-use websites. Squarespace is, in our opinion, the current best platform that a small business can use to create a website.
Will I be able to edit my Squarespace website after you are done designing it?
OH, ABSOLUTELY. It’s one of our core values that you will be able to fully maintain and edit your website past working with us. We do not use a lot of too-fancy code, impossible to use design files, and if we make you any graphics, we make them in YOUR Canva account for you to edit. We chose Squarespace for its flexibility, and empowering you as a client is our #1 goal.
How can I learn how to edit my Squarespace website?
With every project, we provide a custom how-to video for your unique website that covers and special designs we did. Past that, we have a robust Squarespace video library that covers many easy, five minute tutorials.

What kind of support do you offer after my site launches?
We provide 30 Days of FREE maintenance after your site launches! During this 30 days, you remain a priority client and we are responsive to your questions, feedback and edits. We also communicate with you the entire time and ensure you have touchpoints to ask questions.
After that 30 days, you will get a custom how-to video going over your website, and you will get a link to our Squarespace Video Library. Last but not least, you get access to a special Existing Client page with discounts to calls and ways to work with me in the future!
I really need help with something quick in Squarespace. I’m not tech savvy enough to get this issue - but I don’t need a full package. Can you help?
A Power Hour Consultation session is the answer! Within this hour I’ll knock out your issue, provide any strategic advice or tips that I see, and follow up with an email of resources. This is the lowest cost item and the fastest item I have, and I get a LOT done in this hour!
Will you do [graphic design project]?
Bold August is a brand + website design studio and does not take on small graphic design projects at this time. If you are seeking assistance with graphic design items such as flyers, brochures, business cards, or more, we have references and would be happy to guide you in the right direction! Or, feel free to book a design day for a Canva buildout.
Design Scope & Timeline
How long does does a Squarespace website design take to design?
Custom branding & website design together takes on average 8 weeks. We believe in a process that is collaborative, thorough, and allows time for you to ponder and think through your content and design feedback. During this 8 weeks, you are:
Filling out our brand strategy documentation and working with us on developing that strategy
Providing feedback on your branding and we upload it into Canva and teach you how to use it
Writing copy for your website! This is the biggest consumer of design projects and while we aim to make the process as easy as possible, you do still have to write content or hire a content writer

You can see why all of that takes time and we like to make sure that it feels relaxed. Website projects should be fun and thorough, not stressful and choppy!
Why do your Squarespace website projects take that amount of time?
A thorough project should include: content editing, SEO optimization, custom design on each page, thoughtful systems and workflows, communications with you, revision rounds, and so much more. This takes time! Diluting the process into a day does not work for our specific workflow.
How long does a full brand design take to design?
Branding only (no website) takes on average 3-4 weeks, depending on the scope of the package.
Why does designing a logo for a brand project take that long to design?
Quite honestly - we’re pretty speedy, in fact! Branding is designed completely from scratch. As a designer, I open a completely blank board and use my own creativity, your research, and deep dive into the materials you’ve given me. 3-4 weeks is the absolute fastest I can go for branding.
What is your communication like throughout a design project?
We offer a set amount of calls for each project. We hit milestones and talk to you about different topics each time. You have unlimited access to Voxer or email, but additional calls are an additional cost.
Bold August + AI (Artificial Intelligence.)
How is Bold August using AI?
Currently, Bold August is taking a cautious stance with AI. We are mindful of the environmental and mental impact it has on our Earth and our human minds. However, we recognize that the world is a fast-moving space and we want to stay sharp and understand how these tools can help, rather than hurt, us in our business endeavors.
Currently, we do not use AI for any sort of content, graphic, design, etc generation whatsoever. Bold August is against completely generative AI.
We are using it to edit blog posts, analyze data, and provide feedback when necessary.
We do not use AI at all in design work whatsoever, and will not do so. Only for content, blogs, outlining, and some light SEO work.
How does Bold August use AI with clients?
We always get consent first.
We allow clients to opt-out of AI usage during their onboarding! The choice will be yours if we utilize AI or not during your project. If you opt out of using AI, we will record that in our notes and will not touch it during the process of working with you.
If you opt-in, we will still not use AI to generate any unique, original content that was not already informed by your words and your language. The onboarding brand questionnaire is crucial for this, as it allows you to write in your brand voice first and then allow us to help you with AI later.
