Our Brand Values

  • Communication

We pride ourselves on constant communication and clear expectations. We would rather over-communicate than under-communicate.

  • Balance

Your job isn’t your life. Family comes first. If you need to reschedule, postpone, or have space due to mental health, we’re here for that.

  • Kindness

We approach every project with kindness and empathy, and ask for it in return. We understand everyone is at different levels of tech-savvy and we aim to meet you where you are.

  • Sustainability

We’ll recommend the best, sustainable options if you choose to print or get brand swag. We also strive to work with carbon neutral platforms.

The Bold Team

Bold August Design Studio is owned, operated, and designed by Olivia August, and she will be your main point of contact on your project. She is also the lead designer and every design, Canva template, and brand goes through her.

We utilize contractors and freelancers to enhance our offerings and create a flexible team for all of our projects, so you might see other email addresses on email threads and your accounts.

Olivia Hutto August

Owner, Lead Designer

Design is quite literally my passion. I like to joke that in the event of an apocalypse, do not try to find me unless you want something saved as a PDF. I went to school for design, have been designing for 10+ years, and I basically dream in fonts and CMYK and color palettes! I live in Atlanta with my two cats, Little Cat and Fat Cat, and on weekends you can catch me walking the Beltline probably complaining about how hot it is in Atlanta.

Fun facts about me:

  • I consider myself “from” Atlanta - anything past 10 years means you’re from there, right?

  • I love playing games: from board games to video games, you can find me playing something cozy and fun

  • I have a degree in graphic design! This is neither here nor there in today’s landscape but it is a fun fact. I learned so many design fundamentals in school!

Claire Clausing

Senior Designer

Most of what I learned about art and design came from my mother— who is a graphic design and typography professor! (Yeah, she’s really cool.) I actually went to college for film production, which has come in super handy with making some wild Tiktoks + Reels. I’m an enneagram 4w3, which means I love a good cry and a good checklist. I love making things beautiful and helping other small business owners launch websites they’re truly proud of!

Fun facts about Claire:

  1. I love to sing and dance, and I recently had the chance to be Cinderella in my community theater’s production of Cinderella!

  2. I’m from Bloomington, IL — which was the inspiration for my business’ name, Blooming Design Co., where I sell Squarespace templates.

  3. My husband and I love to travel — he also owns a business and sells National Park gear! I’ve visited 12 parks so far and can’t wait to see more.

Madison Whiteneck

Design Assistant

Madison Whiteneck is dedicated to helping creative professionals streamline their workloads and elevate their projects! Whether Olivia launching a new course or seeking to expand her client base, Madison helps Olivia focus on the big picture while she handles the time-consuming tasks.

Fun facts about madison:

  1. She loves going to the park with her son, Hayden and husband, Keith

  2. She's a Bravo TV enthusiast, always up-to-date with the latest reality shows

  3. Loves a good hyper fixation hobby - currently obsessed with her Circuit machine

  4. Walks with her dog Wiley while listening to a new podcast episode are her favorite way to unwind

Dr. Jessie McCrary

Blog Writer, Researcher

Jessie McCrary has a PhD in rhetoric and composition, and her day job is in scholarships & fellowships advising in higher education. She doesn't let any of that prevent her from knitting and sewing garments for her me-made wardrobe. Jessie is a lifelong writer and curious person; one of many projects resulting from this is the podcast she cohosted 2017-2020 with Olivia, "The Origins Of." The two may or may not have more podcast ideas in the works...

Fun facts about Jessie:

  1. Studied abroad for a summer in China (2007); Studied abroad in Cuba in 2011.

  2. Grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and has had to argue with at least a few people that it is, in fact, part of the U.S.

  3. Saw the Spice Girls perform in 1998 (Peak Nineties)

  4. Names her cats after Tarantino heroines (so far: Beatrix and Shosanna)”
